Well, I haven't done this but I have also looked at past posts and the EPC, and this is how it seems to go.
As you know, Aero manuals have bigger turbos than CSEs but there are several posts from GaryK at Swedish Dynamics saying you can use either for an LPT upgrade, and he ought to know! You should get some more performance, as the ECU will allow about 10% more boost, depending on other engine & fuel factors of course. You won't make the leap to 225 bhp without the Mitsubishi turbo, of course.
However, getting an ECU from the right year is likely to be a really good idea. The '94 ECUs and the '95 ECUs have different part numbers throughout the range.
