my wife drives a 95 cs with 256k. after her having been stranded due to a broken serpentine belt i gave some thought to what is should pro actively replace. some thoughts:
what i'm really afraid of is catastrophic failure. you know, stuff that fails without warning and will shut you down. my wife won't change flats so AAA is a must. if i were really a fanatic i'd buy run flat tires for her,but then, she drives my car as well...
anyway, carry a spare DI cassette of course. change serpentine belt, shock, and plastic pullies every 30 to 50k. change all water hoses now. if you want, change the timing chain and all associated components. i figure most of the other bad stuff will give you some warning.
