Or rather, I sit here in front of the computer corrected. At least I said "I think," that gets me off the hook, right?
I just stepped out to the car to check Steve's take. On the passenger rear door, the "door ajar" light on pictogram comes on when door is opened, goes off when door closed, independent of interior lights which don't work on that door; must be a bad switch in door jamb.
On the driver rear door, the blue switch I mentioned must be defective or whatever triggers it is de-magnetized or something. Because that door fails to show up as ajar on the pictogram even if it is. ITS door jamb switch does turn the interior overhead light on and off, though.
So when I get to pulling the passenger rear door apart to lube its latching mechanism thoroughly (I'm working around all four doors as Ganzo did), I'll pay special attention to that switch and its surroundings.
There's a big fat iron peg, 1/2" diameter by 1 1/2" long about, that otherwise seems to serve no purpose except as mass, jutting out off a piece of the locking arm. It pops down right next to the blue switch when door button is down, pops way up away when button is up. And while the blue switch sits right next to the latching tongue also, I didn't see any obvious part of that that comes near to the switch when door is latched or unlatched. (The switch is a sealed unit with no external moving parts.)
I'll get out the meter and probe the switch's wires as I put the passenger rear latch thru its paces to see how it works. Then maybe I can figure out what's wrong with the one on the driver side rear. I'm sure I plugged that one back in tight, and the wires looked fine.
Ganzo, if you figure yours out let us know what it was.
And hey, SteveB, you lucky guy to own the Saab service manual; wish I had one I could follow along in. If I have a deep question I may post a shout out to you.
The 9000 I belong to was a town away when I was answering you and Ganzo a few posts back so I didn't check things myself. (I was so SURE I was right.)
