Hi Everett,
so sorry to tell you the news, but I wanted to save you from additional abuse. Please do not compare the compression numbers from normally aspirated engines, they ARE high compression, typically 10.5 to 1.

I am only familiar with the 2.3 engine design/equipment 96 to 98, but since an earlier post mentioned that 94 CS models were FPTs, that suggests the head design was frozen 1994 to 1998. We all know that GM didn't allow SAAB to spend money on the 9000 design at this point.

Do not put a cylinder head from a normally aspirated engine on a turbo engine.

Most professional machinists will not plane a warped cylinder head from a turbo engine. They are happy to cut valve seats and install new valve guides. On a normally aspirated engine cylinder head, shaving more than 0.025 inches is asking for problems. Unless you're Don Garlits running at Gainesville.....his head gaskets average 200 miles.
