UPDATE: it was the slave cylinder Posted by AdamB [Email] (#3) [Profile/Gallery] (more from AdamB) on Mon, 27 Apr 2009 11:29:35 In Reply to: Almost new clutch slave failed?, AdamB [Profile/Gallery] , Wed, 22 Apr 2009 22:49:18 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Whether it was a fabrication fault or debris from the old clutch hose is unknown, but I had them change the master cylinder too and install an upgraded braided steel and teflon hose kit from Abbott Racing.
I got a refund for the slave cylinder where I bought it, but understandably they wouldn't cover the work, since they didn't install it.
As a bonus the clutch engagement is much more smooth now. The slight chatter and judder I had from standstill in 1st and reverse is gone. I thought it was just a consequence of aluminum flywheel + race clutch, but I guess one really can get stock clutch feel with the SPEC flywheel and stage 2+ combo!
