Having clutch problems on my '94 CSE. Local indy installed a used tranny, with new slave and clutch kit. Pedal felt anemic, when I picked it up. After a couple of days, the pedal began to get slow on the return.
Took it back to the shop, and thinking it was now the MC. Tech ordered the part, but called to say he wasn't going to install it, as he did not think it was needed, because when he checked the fluid, it was up, got no air bubbles when he bled it, and clutch worked fine when he drove it around block. Irrespective of that, I told him to go ahead, and install the new MC, as I knew/know something is wrong.
Picked up car, and this time the clutch started engaging at about 30-40% distance off floor (several days before, the clutch began engaging at about 10% from floor).
As I drove home, the clutch began the slow return up from floor, and the further I got, the worse it got. Parked it over the weekend, then got in it today to return to shop. I almost called, and told tech I wasn't coming, but as I drove, the problem came back.
The shop is now going to first inspect, and likely replace the hose from the MC. But what could be causing this that could be heat related?
One other thing: this car sat for about a year up until about two months ago, because the clutch was dropping to the floor. Then two months ago, I was getting it ready to be towed in for clutch work, and in so doing, discovered that the clutch was mysteriously working. I took it to the shop anyway, and the tech found nothing, and I drove it without any issue until a couple of weeks ago, when the shaft splines on the differential went out.
Any ideas what might be the problem?
