if you pull the CV joint you don't need to remove the tripod bearing unless there is an issue with it. tripod bearings have three rollers with needle bearings and is very delicate. You can slip the inner boot on from the CV joint side. Also, if you *do* remove the tripod bearing note that the the bearing splines are tapered, one side will slip right on to where it needs to stop, the other side... not so much! You can put axle in vise and use a long drift and tap against the bearing next to the axle, move it around and avoid the rollers, once it's slightly free it will slip off, remember it's tapered. have friend there to catch the bearing in a rag.
also, if you have a bench vise, I like to put the axle in the vise at about a 45 degrees up with the CV joint up, when you have found and cleaned some of the grease away from the circlip to remove the CV joint, just before you start, I like to smack the end of the threaded shaft *towards* the axle (you can use a rubber mallet, one of those double headed affairs with the hard plastic end, OR a hammer WITH A BLOCK OF WOOD BETWEEN hammer and the end of the threaded end of the CV joint), reason is that often the CV joint has tension on it and the clip is bound in the grove. After you get the clip out... reverse the axle in the vise with CV joint pointed down, you can use that same rubber mallet to convince it to slip off BUT be ready to catch it! Suggest a friend or a box of rags or crumpled newspaper as a target if alone.
