I know from your postings that you do know your way around a Saab, and that is great. I suspect you know orders of magnitude more than I about these cars.

Could you please clarify your statement that the TCS system applies the brakes. Does it apply the brakes exclusively, as you imply, or does it also control the throttle? I have the (very large) TCS manual as well, but haven't found the need to dig in.

Finally, I must say that I agree with Bill Homer with respect to the ECU stuff. My guess is that the system was not properly engineered for automotive applications and this came back to bite them... they did discontinue it.

My Aero is not abused (by my own estimation and intention), and it has been in favorable climates its whole life (Southeast dry-weather-only car until 44K, then with me to (dry) MT for a couple of years before spending the last 4 years in CA.) Maybe I'm lucky, and maybe the squeaky wheels get all the attention around here.

Finally, I'm sorry if I came across the wrong way in my original post.
