...but 0W30 and 0W40 are the same viscocity when cold thus the same number before the "W". the second number rates the viscocity after it is up to operating temp.
Higher viscocity numbers in older engines with more wear are better because the oil is "thicker" and supports bearings better as the engine is running. At least that's what I recall.
I'm running the synthetic 5W40 Rotella T6 in my '91 NA and '92 turbo because I thought I read on hear about the higher wear qualities of the "diesel" oils if that's still the case.
At any rate, oil is always debated here it seems but "0" weights would be good for those frigid climate starts I'm thinking.
