I don't know if your 93 has a NTC sensor. This tells the computer that the engine is cold, thus allowing for more gasoline to be delivered. I do know that when ever I start a fuel injected car I always turn the key to on, wait several seconds and crank the engine. Never touch the accelerator pedal before hand. At times, a reduced spark plug gap helps in very cold conditions. High altitude are already controlled/adjusted by the injection system. A slow/cold fuel pump relay could also be a sign of this problem. Try pulling the fuse out for the fuel pump and replacing it with a fresh new one. Once a year I will go through each fuse and reset it in it's holder just to clean the contact surface area.
