I know its taken me a long time to finally get this open, but I can at least proclaim that I did no other damage to the car to finally get this door popped open. After driving around for the last two weeks with the inside panel off, and it getting looser (from the noise it made anyway, bouncing down the road....)I was able to have one of the kids pull the outside handle, while I gave a good solid kick from the inside, careful to drape a folded blanket over the open window.
I've pulled the outer latch, soaked, blown with the compressed air and suitably loosened the years of grime inside that were binding it up, to where it will operate correctly on the bench. The inner working seem to bind in the lock/unlock pivot point , and will require more attention, and perhaps a new latch system, but at least for now, I can open and close the door, install the factory racks I ran across last winter, and drive to the beach with a surfboard up top, or a bike rack if I find one of those to install up there too.
Perhaps by the end of summer I can actually have all four doors operating correctly, locking correctly (some will open now even if locked,....), and fully secure.
Thanks always to those of you who pipe up with ideas to try through this process.
