I would change the battery out for a new one. I'ts a prudent move if you are looking at 4 more months of Montreal express. And then if it continues, You have to find out what is actually happening . 9000's are notorious for bad ignition switches. The most prominemt symptom is a turn of the key with nothing happening. The fact that your lights go dim when you turn the key is a good case for doing the battery thing first, also make sure connections are good at BOTH ends of the cables. With luck you will beat the problem, if it still just clicks on occasion, it's going to need attention to the starter wiring, but NOT necessarily a new starter. When you get a no crank condition, check the voltage at the yellow wire on the starter soleniod. If it is below 12 volts, it isn't enough to pull the solenoid in for a starter connection. There are several fixes for this on this BB and I'm sure someone will offer one .
