need tires for '91 turbo

I know it's a frequent topic, but I'm looking for advice on tires for my '91 turbo. I've read the tire FAQ and a lot of the BB back posts.
When I bought the car last fall it had Goodyear Eagle GT+4's on it; the owner also gave me a pair of Michelin Pilot HX MXM's he used to have on an SPG. I liked the Goodyears, but I was new to the car and had nothing to compare to. I put on snows on steel rims for the winter, and when the thaw came put the Michelins on the alloy rims because the Goodyears were at the wear indicator. The Michelins grip really well, but ride _hard_ and are noisier than the snows! They also wear like an eraser, far too quickly for me to buy another set at that price.
I want something good in corners, but to be honest I never push it above 90 m/h in the straight, less in curves, so ultra-ultra-high speed grip is not an issue. I'd like something that can take rain, but I don't need serious snow handling. I'd like something that's not going to kill my back the way the Michelins are (I know the '91 turbo had a stiff suspension), and I'd like to be able to talk to my wife....yeah, yeah, no marriage counselor jokes, please. With the Michelins the car is plain noisy, no doubt in part because they're worn.
From various reviews and posts, the following look interesting. Can anyone compare them? Anything else I really should consider? Listed in more or less descending price:
- Firestone SZ50 EP
- Michelin energy MXV4
- Bridgestone Turanza v revo
- Goodyear Eagle GT+4
- Bridgest. potenza RE730
- Dunlop SP sport 5000
- Kumho Ecsta supra 712
I'm intrigued by the Kumhos because they're a real deal if they're as good as Robert Davis says they are. Anyone actually running them?
