position sensor. What you are asking is concerning software prom values embedded in the trionics computer. In the early days it was pretty simple open/close based on the TPS. Today there is an absolute manifold sensor, TPS and turbo output signal. The computer takes this info, sorts it and sends a signal to the relief valve. Although I haven't been able to find informqtion but I believe there is also some modulation of this relief fubction on later cars with trionics when the absolute pressor sensor biased to ambient senses over boost before fuel shut off occurs. At 9000 feet and above I have heard the relief relieve boost pressure when the gage was pegged well beyond the red range. Car was still running fine but simultaniously the boost also backed off to around mid range red. (97 Aero- latest computer)
If you are truly interested you can have Saab interogate the computer with ISAT and give you some numbers but they will be essentially useless to you since the checks are essentially pass/fail (codes- no codes-no problems).
