on all 2001s TCS is a systenm the provides Traction Control to the drive wheels, sort of like the reverse of ABS. ABS prevents slids and TCS prevent spins. This system is wonderful, if you live in ice areas, which you do. Pretty useless in Florida. Sounds like you have a mechanically nice car and is ready for many more miles, Rust is a problem but it does happen. You probably won't get much for it because of the rust. so being a conservative I'd drive it till the wheels fall off. There are recyclers who buy these kinds of cars for the good mechanical parts Call 1-800 Saab-137 and talk to Eric. good luck
Don't know your budget but the newer Saabs (99 and up) have much better design for rust control but aren't as much fun to drive or work on - just cars/transportation.
