I have my free-flow cat installed in the "old" location... ...works like a charm! I have a 3" JT downpipe mated to a 3" in/out converter from Random Technology. Nice handicraft both of them.
Really noticeable improvement when installing 3" from turbo and back. Didn't notice any performance decrease when later adding the cat instead of the 3" replacement pipe I had at first. Less annoying noise level nowadays though. Actually not annoying at all anymore...
As for the cat I just used the "bracket" that came with the JT downpipe to hang it in the "hooks" that are still there from the old type cat installation.
