Peter,
Learning but not very proficient with my '87 Saab 9000 T yet! Have saved a lot thus far from my donor car and studying on saabnet.com. I noticed that you seem to have a lot of knowledge regarding the clutch situation.
I had a weird. Apparently when my wife was driving, and pulled into our parking lot, she pushed the clutch in and it went straight to the floor. When I looked I could see that the pressure hose which is crimped and attaches to a steel nipple had simply come off! I can't tell exactly how to secure it back in place, but obviously it will need to be disassembled and re-crimped.
So we followed the tubes and noted that it went into the firewall. So I removed the little panel under the steering wheel and looked under to see if the master cylinder was under there. But I cannot tell exactly what I'm looking at and I can't find a picture anywhere to help. I assume that I will need to either
a: remove the master cylinder with the hose attached to it or
b: separate the hoase at the master cyl.
I forgot to tell you that the clutch goes 80% down anyway before it engages, yet the reservoir ( brake/clutch oil?) is 3/4 full. So it might be wise for me to take the master off my donor car while I'm at it, if I have to disassemble this anyway?
Can you give me any advice?
Bob Metivier
