waste-gate actuators and air/fuel mix......

Wouldn't you know it.....pulled the plugs on Saabrina yesterday -
sorry Bill, they were grey-brown coated, then took her for a brief
highway run with the pressure gauge hooked-up. Even with
close to 90º F temperatures, she's still giving 20 psi of boost.
However, about a mile from an exit, the boost dropped out of
sight - no boost, eh? Had a suspicion this was due to happen.
When I installed the JT downpipe, a year ago, I had to readjust
the actuator rod to bring the base boost back up to spec'. The pin
that holds the rod on, even though it was less that 6 months old,
had corroded/welded itself onto the waste gate hinge/control.
I never replaced the pin because part of it was impossible to
remove without taking the whole damn turbo off the vehicle.
My question is this: the actuator rod stayed on the arm for about
a year. Do I just put the rod back on the arm and hope it stays there
another year, or do I do it right. What is the easiest fix for this?
Is it possible to drill out the remaining piece of pin in-situ?
