A few questions about the door handle-
Does it release fine from inside the car, but not outside, or is it equally balky?
If release is just as hard inside as outside, I'd suspect a latch misalignment. The latch engages a post on the chassis frame, and if that is too tight, it can bind the latch mechanism on the door. Use a GOOD 6-point 17mm socket or open end wrench on the post on the chassis part of the door frame to loosen it and reposition. Try moving it outboard and down a little.
If it's balky from the outside but not the inside release, try this - don't pull on the outside door handle. Instead, put your thumb on the fixed part of the door handle and lever the moving part out. Does the door open? If you just pull on the handle, the force of your pull acts directly on the latch/post. If they're a little too tight, that force just binds things up. By using the fixed part of the latch as a base, you pull the lever without loading up the release mechanism.
There are a few other tricks - is the door handle even slightly loose? If so, get the door open, and look at the back of the door - the part with the latch. At the level of the handle there will be a screw head - it may be torx, it may be a bolt head. Tighten it up if it's loose.See if that helps.
Otherwise, your best bet is to remove the door panel. there are no 'adjustments' - the best you can do is bend a few pieces to get more actuation.
good luck!
