Have had similar problem several times with my 91. Poor design, and operation by others. I think your problem is the same, most likely. There is a replaceable part on the handle assembly costing about 6 bucks. (cant remember the name or part no.-sorry) The part is stressed under use, and finally either cracks, or just bends more than the operation allows. You can access and remove the door handle by removeing the interior door panel. One nut on the inside, and one bolt on the outside (frame side) hold the handle in. (10mm?) Pay close attention to the assembly as you withdraw it. A 1/4 turn will disengage the door handle and the damaged part from the latch assembly. There is a kind of ball and socket connection to the lock or inside handle that you must disconnect. ( NOTE: Reconnection is difficult due to being hard to reach with your fingers. It can be a bit frustrating, but innovate with a piece of string or wire to get it all back together. A third hand with tiny fingers would be great hear, but probably only if it is your own. ) Once the handle is withdrawn you will see the part needing replacement. It is attached with a single screw to the handle. It is sort of an offset or twisted, zee shape. During reassembly note that the piece needs to be inserted behind the latch mechanism to operate. If you are really lucky, perhaps all that has happened is that this has slid in front of the latch assembly and not cracked or bent. But not likely and the part is cheap, so just get it before you even start. I had to replace my first one after bending it to get it to work for a very short time quickly failed. Next time one went bad, I just reordered and replaced it rather than attempt to reuse after it had been bent from its original design. Best of luck, should take about an hour total, assuming you can quickly remove the interior door panel.
