Water isn't harmful to drink - but if the limits to which 'normal'
consumption are exceeded, then drowning may occur. Your point about
when BL may be a negative is well taken, but why even be concerned?
As long as one makes a slight effort at regular maintenance, in this
case, frequent coolant and t-stat changes, then the issue of when
something turns into its' opposite becomes a pedantic issue for the
philosophers. If I understand you correctly, the issue becomes when
does the distinction between 'healthy' and 'unhealthy' occur, vis a vis
cooling systems. Should BL run tests to determine when their product
might not be good for a shaky/imminently clogged cooling system? I dunno.. However, in this particular case, there's no evidence given that it was the BL that caused Dave's car to boil over - it may have just been
coincidence that he just added the BL.
