to imagine placing such regulations on a product like BL. I can
understand it with the pharmaceutical industry, in fact, I've often
wondered how the motive for profit and the release of 'information about the performance and behavior of its product over the entire range of possible system conditions and variables', are ever
reconciled! Let's face it, there are a lot of other more dangerous/
expensive non-disclosed items out there, dealing w/Saabs, than
BL. Take some of these 'tuners' that modify ECU's. I don't see any
information out 'there' on ECU's that get their horsepower/torque
increases by altering/lowering the threshold by which the APC
functions. Of course, this is no argument that BL shouldn't disclose
information, if it has some, or against regulations in general. In
an ideal world, there would be sufficient information for all
purchasing decisions. However, I feel Adam Smith said it best:
it's not from the benevolence of the butcher we expect our dinner
but from their regard to their own interest. It seems to me that
most companies, under todays' mode of operations, are guilty of
not disclosing pertinent information when it may affect marketability
or profits, in general. But is BL high on the list in terms of degree
of egregiousness?......I'll leave that for others to judge!
