ok, heres the story. I have an 88 9000T i bought it with 63k and change miles and the owner told us it needed tranny work. After the whole summer with the car basically dead all the summer my father and i went to a junkyard, we bought a trans off of another 9000T 88 for 400$. I dont know if it is rebuild and i dont know the mileage but in my situation as this being my first car its ok, the price was good too so if its just trading one problem for another i dont mind seeing as you can usually get a 500 core charge when you get a rebuild. We are not experiecned DIY mechanics but we got the job done with some help from friends we replaced the tranny. Total took about 30 hours of fun learning time. Good Luck adn check out erikkson industries they specialize in tranny rebuilds for saab which can be had for around 1700. GOOD LUCK and keep on SAABIN!!!
