battery cables were replaced with heavy duty 4 gauge cable with gold plated terminals on each end? The terminals on the battery posts themselves, are also gold plated.
My car's startup voltage almost never drops below 11.0V, typically it's around 11.5V.
Like Ari said, every car is different. However, I'd venture the theory that if you replaced the battery with the same type, as well as put brand new battery cables all of the same type, on 10 different cars, you would get extremely close results when starting, as opposed to the 2.0V or higher variations we're seeing here.
