There aren't that many candidates left anymore in decent condition, other than the ones like this one that demand a higher price. The body and paint is probably in great shape, as is the interior, and how bad can the engine and tranny be worn with that low a mileage? Those are major expense areas if it was a basket case that needed restored. It very well may not be a "collectable" EMS or turbo, but in my opinion, owning any 99 is a treat...period! ...and ownership puts you in rare group of only a few hundred > that are still driveable....
I've owned and driven at least one 99 since 1985, so being without one is never an option....OK, so I stretched the truth a bit> one sat on blocks in my garage for six years awaiting bodywork and paint, so I didn't have one to drive, but I LOOKED at it every day > remembering what a blast it was to drive. Along came a new body, thanks to Chip, and I'm back on the road again...well, it is winter, so in the garage it sits till spring.
