I'm about to go synthetic and I'm finishing my auto-rx cycle before I go through with it. I have a 1995 900s with an auto tranny.

If I were you, I wouldn't risk it. Probably 90% chance you could do it and everything will be fine. However, its the 10% chance that keeps you honest. Imagine what that 10% could mean. One or more of your seals starts leaking (not to mention the common seal issue at the rotor/distributor)... you have to have someone do an enormous job on your engine. If you really don't want to do auto-rx or amsoil, see if you can get your mechanic to guarantee that the oil change will not have an adverse effect on your engine. Get it in writing. If anything does go catastrophically wrong, he fixes it for nothing. That would be a safe gamble, I think.

I don't know... maybe no mechanic would do that. It may not be a huge risk, but the stakes are super high. Do you have a second car?
