I second BillD's solution. If your remote is dead, your screwed. Thier is no way to immobilize the immobilizer. Thats why owners who have one remote, and that remote decides to die while the alarm is on have to pay big bucks for the dealer to replace the whole alarm ECU. In the extreme cold even if you were to have had an extra remote in the trunk, whose to say that wouldn't have frozen too? Best bet is to just use the key to lock the car in that situation.
