I really wish you had stuck with Bosch cap too and Bougicord plug wires instead of "other" brand. Those brand are superior in both quality and fit.
NGK BCPR6ES is perfectly ok to use in your car and the EV might be difficult to find sometimes. I don't bother to use the EV since I haven't seen any improvements in the cars that have them installed from factory.
Remove the metal cover on top of engine (4 screws) and take off all plug wires from plugs BUT leave all wires connected to ignition cap and just unsnap the two clips from distributor cap. That way you minimize the risk of messing up the plug wire order since you have the old setup to check on when you put the new ones in.
The outer distributor o-ring is easy to replace (only one bolt hold dist) but it is just as common that it is the inner distributor shaft seal that is leaking and it is only a handful of mechanics that know how to replace that seal.
Most mechanics don't bother due to that it takes some extra work to find the correct seal and install it (Saab doesn't sell that seal, you have to replace the whole distributor in their eyes).
Make sure to buy the correct size copper washers for the fuel filter, DO NOT reuse the washers from the old filter.
To do a full major service on your car I recommend.
Cap, rotor, wires and plugs.
Air, oil, fuel and pollen filters.
Engine, trans, coolant and brake fluids.
Rotate and balance tires.
Add Techron fuel injection cleaner and wind shield washer solvent.
Full safety check of car.
It comes up to about $500.00 at my shop.
Good luck
Anders
