Symptoms indicate a damaged clutch not a worn clutch...

Ray,
Usually as a the clutch disc wears and becomes thinner the symptom seen is slippage under full throttle in any gear. The clutch is unable to transmit maximum torque and will slip more and more easily towards the end of life.
Your symptoms indicate that the clutch is damaged and not fully releasing. This can happen at any mileage if the disc becomes warped or delaminated. Perhaps the pressure plate is warped or has spring problems. In cars with a clutch linkage adjustment, if the pedal free play is excessive the clutch will not release fully, but I think the Saab is self-adusting.
If the clutch disc is warped or damaged while it still is only partly worn, it could reasonably be considered a manufacturing defect under warranty. The warranty excludes wearable items, but not if they were badly made. The pressure plate should be covered if defective. Let us know what you find...
