I wanted to add a few things. First off, I could have bought a BMW, Porche, another Benz etc. I own the Benz, so finances were not a big deal, but of course money is a deal! Anyway, I fell hard for the SAAB convertible. I took it for a test drive with a friend. I wanted a convertible with a decent back seat for my two kids. I did not want to leave them out of the fun! Safety was another big factor, since I am used to driving a big, safe car everyday. I did some research, then went to the Saab dealer. My wife threw a fit. She says no way are you getting a convertible. They are not safe. I do not like them, etc... I was dejected. Then she said maybe I was having a mid life problem. I said, "hey, if I was having a mid life problem, I would be getting a Porche!" So anyway, I took the family for a test drive. All the way over, my wife says she hates convertibles. I had to promise that we would test drive a 3 series BMW, check out the new little Jag, etc. Whatever.. we will just drive them all. So we get to the dealer, and she starts looking over the Saabs. She says: "Hey these are cute." Then I realized she had never really been around Saabs. So we take out the convertible. She just flat out falls in love with the car. The kids love it too. No one wants to look at the bimmers, Jags, etc. They want the red convertible. Period. Get it today! So I did. I was all grins. That dam car sold itself. Then the pleasure of driving it day to day started to kick in. I don't know how it is going to hold up long term, but I plan to get another one in 3 years when this deal is up. Even if it has to go to the shop a lot, I don't care. I have the Benz to drive if I need it to get to work. As a matter of fact, the mileage penalty might be worth it!
