It is a larger car. The hoodline and roofline is raised, the nose is longer, the wheelbase is much wider; if you were to measure how much water it would displace if sunk (U-boat?), it would be quite a bit more.
I know that this isn't the case, but the car looks like the center of gravity has been raised substantially. The windshield is sloped more. From behind the wheel, it is much more difficult to know where every corner of the car is. The previous 911's allowed the driver to know exactly where each wheel or tyre is planted at all times. It eliminated some of the guesswork when finding the track or road's edge.
I, also, refuse to believe that a Porsche needs cupholders, auto climate control, and an automatic transmission. What happened to the fun of driving? What happened to letting the engine be your radio? It's a sad day in Porscheville. The 911 has become soft and pregnant. :-(
