Double-check you manual. It was over a year before I noticed the heading on the tire table read "LOWEST recommended tire pressure." And what's the max pressure rating on those P6000's? (Possibly lower than my OE 205/50s?)
So what are the visual/tactil symptoms? I don't understand what you mean by, "They 'feel' slightly cupped."
FWIW, I had my 205/50s up around 48-50psi during a trip last summer, & hit a pothole on the freeway at about 65mph. Man! I thought the tire had exploded! When I pulled off to look everything over, there was NO visible damage. When I got back home I took the car in to be checked out, & 'splained what had happened. The mechanics couldn't find any damage, either.
