"Cupping can be caused by an unbalanced tire condition, faulty wheel bearings, loose parts, fatigued springs or weak shock absorbers." They (autoshop-online.com) don't suggest any cures for affected tires, only how to detect/correct/avoid it. Another site suggested switching tire brands (!). I also found this other page (attached).
I don't think cupping can be "run out" of a tire, due to the depth & spot-specific nature of the wear. Feathering, yes. I guess maybe if you've caught it early enough, you might be able to run it out. Don't know how long it would take, though.
