At only 15K on my Viggen . . . (long)

I guess I'm not in the best position to judge yet whether all those things you list will or will not be OK on my car through X miles (X is however long you think those things SHOULD last). All I can say is none of those things have been a problem, yet. Every now and then you see someone on this board who appears to have gotten their hands on a serious lemon, but they are few and far between. If you are looking for perfect reliability go Japanese. The most reliable SAAB will still cost more to own in the long run.
From what I've read they did screw up the steering rack assembly after MY95 (I think). Having seen the GM-stamped rubbery donut that "stabilizes the steering rack" in my Viggen (and replaced it with a solid aluminum brace) I can say parts have been dumbed down for the average user of these cars to provide a softer feel. If you are an enthusiast you will probably want to upgrade some of these things such as the steering rack brace and rubber bushings, and many other things depending what you're looking for. The steering rack brace should never have left the factory the way it is given how simple it is to vastly improve the steering feel of the car with a simple replacement part.
