If your engine is idling and you lift the hood, does it shake slightly?
It happened to me on my 1994 900S and the engine balance shaft were out of timing because of wear in the chain and sprockets. When they were changed, it ran smooth as a very smooth thing! The vibration was worse when under load.
I now own a 2000, and it does shake in a very similar fashion - and it is arround the same mileage (160K km or 100K miles) as the 900 was, so I suspect the same effect at work. I'll replce the timing chain for peace of mind soon anyway, so I'll check at the same time. You might want to check in that area yourself if you can.
But I also know that Viggen Wheels, while beautiful, are too damn fragile, especially with the crap roads we have up here. If I bend one one more time, I'm buying bulletproof rally wheels!!!
