Benefit: It seems that T5+MBC fuel cuts can be eliminated to a good degree. Cheap, easy and easy to adjust.

Problems: If you get an APR that has an added feature of relieving output pressure when the pressure exceeds the set point, you will have problems. That type of APR is designed so that you can reduce a pressure setting and it will then vent off pressure in the output line. A basic APR will not do that. If you use one of those there will be two bleed ports and the MBC behaviour will be messed up and adjustment will be complex.

Summary: The ball-spring MBC, while being great at improving spoolup, will aways tend to produce boost overshoots and fuel cuts. An Air Pressure Regulator can be installed in parallel to the MBC. As boost builds, the APR will apply a regulated amount of pressure to the WasteGate Actuatior before the MBC begins to flow. So the WGA is air pressure pre-loaded in anticipation of the MBC opening. Once the MBC flows the pressure is greater than the APR setting and the APR then stops flowing. So the MBC setting is de-coupled from that of the APR. See other post for more in-depth discussion.

This post tags the first post where this arrangement was tested. See the thread for results and links to posts where this was originally suggested as a solution.

Yes, this is only one test and very early. But it is looking very promising at this point. Please try this if you have a T5+MBC.
