I vote for now, here's two reasons why......... Posted by andy [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Change DI cassette now or later?, John00, Thu, 4 Dec 2003 04:56:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I bought a new DI and NGK plugs from sobstory a while back and put it in immediately upon getting home. I figured that at 74,000 miles, I don't want to experience a total loss of power at 80 in the fast lane of an interstate on a cold winter's night. Cars never break down in your garage at home.
Second, carrying a spare around in the trunk leaves it exposed to potential damage (sliding around trunk, vibration, gets dropped or squashed by something). So I would rather risk inadvertant damage to a well used spare than to an unused $275 brand new spare. And its not a spare if its at home and you are two hours away.
It only takes a few minutes to swap; one jones plug connector and four nuts, pull up, replace press down and install nuts and plug. Remember to change out the plugs with the new DI.
