A lot can be gained by removing the restrictions in the intake and exhaust systems.
Like plumbing, a restriction anywhere in the system affects the through put of the whole system. It really comes down to the most gain for the money/time spent.
A 'perfect' NG900/9-3 turbo engine would have a low restriction intake, free flow intercooler, large diameter downpipe, free flow sport catalytic converter, and a free flow exhaust.
The Saab Sport exhaust or the Fox sport exhaust (offered thru Swedish Dynamics) are both good choices for a free flow exhaust.
But don't forget the nice handling gains from the rear sway bar and steering rack clamp/brace.
