B&B is exactly who did the repair for me under warranty.
But, you know, they're right -- you are having trouble shifting into reverse. If the REASON you're having the trouble is that your car has a problem which is caused by faulty components and is fixed by the improved components included in this kit, then they should do the repair under warranty. If, on the other hand, your car has trouble shifting because the previous owner loved to shift into reverse without depressing the clutch, or was otherwise abusive of the trasmission, there's no reason that should be covered under warranty. In other words, the warranty doesn't cover the "symptom" -- it covers "defects" which can give rise to the symptom. If your car is showing this symptom because of something other than a defect, that would be your problem. (For all you know, the upgrade was done by the previous owner, who then proceeded to trash the upgraded transmission!)
So, in short, it's pretty typical that the shop would have to investigate to see what's causing the problem in order to determine whether it's a warranty issue and, if it's not, you'd be expected to pay for the investigation and, if you chose to get them, the repairs.
It would be a good idea to take the sheet with you, not to "prove" anything, but to alert the dealer to the fact that if they do a rebuild for you, whether under warranty or not, they should make sure to utilize the improved components included in the kit.
