And maybe another $5-600 that it may need in time. Have you replaced the timing chain and tensioners yet? If your timing chain starts to make noise, then that would need to be addressed... another $1000, nearly.
Really, it's not that bad. You have $2350 in repairs that you know are going to be needed. Another $1500 that you may need down the line. So, that's $3850, plus the $1500 that you may be able to get out of the car as-is. That's $5350... Really, what can you get for $5350? Judging by the Saabnet classifieds, for example, '97-'98 900 with 80k to 100k on it. Seems like these are quite similar, in some ways, to what you already have. Plus, you're more than likely going to have plenty of work to do on one of these, too.
Your car has a LOT of things going for it. Mainly, you've taken very good care of it and it's a known quantity. You know what this car needs, may need, what's been done to it and how well. Plus you know how it's been driven. Of course, there's no telling what could happen in the future, or how soon/catastrophic that failure could be.
