It's a great car and I'd like to keep it as long as I can. It is an '02 with 140,xxx miles on it. Anders, I've read your earlier posts on removing the timing cover with the engine in the car and I'm thinking about removing the cover tonight to see what I find. Would I be better just pulling the engine and not fooling around with working in the fender well? I've pulled engines out of a lot of different types of cars over the years, but never one out of a front wheel drive model so I don't know how much work I'm getting myself into. Obviously, the timing chain is worn and the plastic guides should be replaced, but what else should I look for? Wear on the balance shaft gears?
Thanks for your help,
Shawn
