Trionic 5 knock detection and OBDII reader

I am considering installing a MBC+A on my '97 NG900 SET. I already have installed a GS intake, and will be installing a cat-back by the end of the summer. Additionally, I am on the lookout for a viggen intercooler. I will also be installing NKG plugs when I install the MBC+A. I have read all about the Trionic 5's measures for correcting engine knock, and understand that cutting boost is a last resort measure and should only happen if something else is wrong with the engine. I also understand that you cant always hear the knock if it occurs. My question then is, is there any way to monitor the knock definitively? Can this be picked up by a standard OBDII reader? If not is there any piece of equipment that can read from the ECU's memory to find out if the ECU has been trying to cut boost to compensate for knock?
Thank You,
Ethan
