Just because the windows work, does not necessarily eliminate the battery as the culprit. It is possible that the battery has enough juice to run the windows, but not the starter.
If the DI cassette were bad, the engine would still crank over, it just would not start.
I'm not 100%, but I seriously doubt a failed O2 sensor would cause this. I would bet that the car would run, perhaps not well, but it would run.
I would personally try to jump it and see what happens.
Are the battery terminals dirty/corroded? It is possible that if the terminals are corroded, the battery doesn't get charged. Once started the car runs off the alternator, but the battery is not being charged, and it is drained somewhat each time you start it.
