So late yesterday, after calling around Brooklyn to find a Saab mechanic, my son called AAA to get the car towed somewhere. The tow truck showed up tried to jump start the car - nothing. My son agreed to have it towed to the AAA garage which I was very concerned about since I was assuming it was an exotic Saab problem that a nondescript garage couldn't deal with. About 20 minutes after the car got to the garage my son called me to tell they put a new battery in the car and the car started without any issues on the first try. I told him that before he left there to restart it several times and to play around with it to make sure there were any other issues.
No other issues. New battery did it.
I just think that is odd but he drove home today the 300 miles in bad thunder storms with lots of rain and he didn't have any problems.
Thank you to everybody for their suggestions and thoughts.
