I own one [900SET coupe] from day 1. I have 305k miles on it, and still drive it as daily commuter. The level of maintenance is on par with BMW, compared to a E92 that I also drive. I have replaced, sometimes on multiple occasions, the ignition cassette, water and fuel pumps, alternators, tranny range switches, suspension parts, ABS modules, clocksprings, and head gasket, along with all other normal wear items. The car is very much DIY possible. In 13+ years, I've been stranded twice due to fuel pump and ignition cassette failures. Hope this helps.
