My 98' 900TC has had the typical tonnue cover failure recently and the repair cost was quite high around $900. But, I fully understand that it is a 13 year old convertible and at times it will cost me some money to keep all the electrics working.
I also see more than a few NG900's here in FL running around with the rear of the tops open (The rear latches I think)
Other than the top in the 18 months I have had my 98' SET Convertible I have done the DIC (Just because), A/C control module (easy), rear motor mount and the altinator. None of these things left me stranded. I bought mine with 68,000 miles and I now have about 77,000 miles.
That being said the I love the car and it drives great. I really love the 97-98' 900's with the updated bumpers and alloys! Good luck I think the Saab is a great choice.
