I imagine the 6 inch pipe would fit the hub, acting as a sleeve, to press out the hub. It's a very tight tolerance for whatever you find. The idea, I believe, is to match the special SAAB tool called out in the manual (WIS) for replacing the front bearings.
I did without the pipe, on a press, with careful construction of cinder blocks and the two plates.
