Yeah, those are good ideas. I took another look at it after reading your suggestions yesterday. You were right, it was the A-pillar outer seal that the salt gunk had seeped by, not the door perimeter seal. The door perimeter seal did not show traces of water seepage. I suspect though, that leakage around the outer seal could lead to wind noise even if the inner seal were tight. Thanks for your input.
This isn't a major issue, there are many far more pressing things on the car that need to be done, but the wind noise was quite annoying on the 1000 mile trip last weekend.
I rode in a friends ~'95-'96 Saturn sedan the other day and was surprised at the total lack of creaks and groaning from the car. His dash didn't even do the snap, crackle and pop as it warmed up that mine does so vocally. No creaks from the doors either on driveways and the like. This is from a car that has almost 100k miles on it and was probably around half the price of my SET when it was new.
C'mon Saab, give us some quality here; the next 9-3 had better be really good.
