I think the mean life of a DI is lower, about 100K-150K -- at least, that's the feeling I've gotten from reading here and over on the 9000 board (they also have some DI models). It's just the worst spot to have an electrical item, right at the top of the engine with all the heat/vibration, and it's a high-voltage unit to boot.

Of course, you're absolutely right about the plugs ... plug type/gap should be stamped right on the DI, it's so critical. Maybe it is, there is a sticker on it somewhere...

As for individual coils, I took mine apart and it was one solid block of epoxy or whatever material they flood the innards with. Darn! Some other makes that have DI do have seperately replaceable coils (Nissan? Dunno what model...)
