if you're a relatively good DIY person, you can put new pads on all four corners for less than $100. Replace the rotors when they're really groved or warped, and when you're rehired. Keep an eye on the PS hose, the cardboard in the garage is a good idea. Don't let the fluid level drop.
I replaced the clutch on my '95 SET at about 60k due to a shudder. There was plenty of meat left on the disc, so don't worry yet. Also, within a couple months the clutch pedal was heavy again, it's because of a bad actuator sleeve design. Don't sweat it until it starts to slip. When you do change the clutch, also replace all the trans seals. It'll run you an extra $100 at the time and save 6 hours labor in the future when they do fail.
